How important this is if not exhausting. Creative people need creative ways to keep that well of inspiration flowing freely. I do a lot of things to remain "in the moment" and last night I became obsessed with one. A video. It is one of my favorite ways to keep my creative well flowing. It is a visual aid I suppose but also an emotional one. Music speaks to me and runs through my veins like rush of starfire burning until I have no choice but to give in to it. So I made a new video and I really love it. It turned out so much better than I thought, and this little bit of inspiration from another movie helped a lot. It gave it a theme. (This was written on Thursday night--I'm a little bit behind in posting updates to the blog)
After making that video, watching it about a million times, I realized I've got to go back to the begining of my story and give it some more depth with it being an info dump. Ah ha...therein lies the clutch because you can't have an info dump in the beginning of a book because let's face it said book will go bing bang boom up against said readers wall. And that's just not good for anybody. So I'm gone back and am fixing the beginning chapter. It's really important to get these things done and get the setup and everything right when you are writing a first draft off of a very rough outline. (Meaning maybe a sentence or two at this point in time for an outline) So a lot of work on that tonight.
Finished 828 new words tonight and I'm nearly done with this 3rd chapter and it might even really end up being the 4th chapter. Crap I don't know right now what it is and have named it "Freeing the devil and why did I do such a stupid thing." ROFLMAO
Hopefully one day you'll all see why I just said that. Janie might know already.
Anyway.
I'm going to bed now...

Work Update: Revision
Progress Report:
Revised pages 15
New pages 5 (maybe more it's still on 10:25)
Music: Your Guardian Angel: The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
This post is primarily about having a vision and then revising that vision as work progresses, or as some say 'on the fly'. It would drive a lot of people mad to work this way. Not so much for me, because I guess in the last five years I have come to understand that to write really means re-write. Ha! I'm the queen of re-write. Good thing it doesn't bother me. *laughing*
Anyway, my day pretty much consisted of signing up at the YMCA, working out, coming home, teaching school, working on the books, and finally writing. Well, actually I re-wrote some four to five pages this morning from the hours of 5:45 and 7:30.
I wonder if this new spurt of productivity is coming from diet and rest. I have been going to bed at a decent hour (meaning before Midnight which to me is going to bed early and sometimes hitting the hay as early as 10:30). Getting up earlier, of course, coincides with going to bed earlier too.
I have also been dieting with my husband. After quitting smoking for the umteenth time, I really went crazy over Christmas making cookies and such and eating them all. No, I didn't share, nasty human that I am.
So, I realized today that I'm really and truly over the habit. (smoking) I have been more stressed over money, job, job loss you name it over the last six months that if I didn't go back to smoking through all this I know I never will. I do not have the desire in any way shape or form for a cigarette.
I'm proud of myself for that.
I also gave myself permission to be nuts for four months which made me gain a good bit of weight. But quitting smoking seemed to empower me. If I could do that? What else can I do? God forbid maybe finish writing a book? Lose weight? The world is full of possibilty.
This is my year.
I'm going to make it my year no matter what life throws at me. I'm on track. It's now or never. I've got to make a stand!!!
Yeah!!!! (Fist pumping in the air) LOL...
