Heh...I made my editor cry...and that makes me happy!

Well,
A Kiss from the Rose is going through copy edits as we speak. I got an email this morning from my editor cursing me. Her quote "It's 2:00 a.m. and I'm sitting here bawling and I'm going to have to go back through this damn story again! Your ending is so not right." [Meaning I yanked her chain, and she thought I had killed the hero dead] heh! You gotta love it when you fool people.

This made me intensely happy. You always wonder as a writer if your words will evoke enough emotion to pull at heart strings, and I guess this time I did my job. I'm pleased with myself. Now whether the rest of the book is any good will remain to be seen.

I finished my character sheets tonight for the new book. I was really sweating bullets because I didn't know if I was going to be able to pull it off. It still needs some tweaking and I'm sure my fearless leader/partner in crime will let me know what needs to be changed. But it is more focused on the story/character arcs and goals. One more thing to check off my to do list. Yeah! Now I can finish decorating my house for Christmas without feeling remotely guilty. I'm going to have a Woodchuck Cider in celebration.

Hopefully now that all my most pressing duties have been taking care of for at least twenty four hours I can sit back and take a five minute breather. Then it's on to first person character letters.

And in between all of that I'm still doing the character sheets for The Red Stain of Clay. But I've revised those character sheets now, (since I know how I'm *supposed* to do them now.
