Well, I think after this post I'm going to have to go to bed. My brain hurts. *laughing* Plotting and working on a big fat fairy tale book is hard work. Writing is hard work. Don't let anyone fool you, writing and plotting is about thinking. Thinking about what message you want to send out to the world. For that is really what is is, a message to the universe.
Tonight, I completed all the tasks Lady Jane asked of me. Whew! I'm pooped. But it feels good. It was hard work, but good work, and we are moving forward at lightening speed. (Don't laugh Janie!) I have begun the first of the character files for our big book tonight. It took a while. Because again, I have to think. And let me tell you I need some WD-40 for my brain cause there is stuff in that grey matter of mine that has not been used in ages. The characters files are so important, I know this, now more than ever. Because it is from your characters sheets that the story is born. It is the creation of your work. If you do not know your characters, you cannot know what drives them, and if you do not know what drives them you have no conflict. i.e. no book.
So tomorrow again I will work on one of my favorite characters. He is wonderful this character. He makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Even though he can be stoic at times.
Books I have been reading about Fairy Tales. If you have never read the Annotated Fairy Tales, you are doing yourself a disservice. These tales in some ways are hard to stomach. But they are filled with romance and symbolism. In a way they tell us what the consequences are for not living the good life. For not living like a good person. Some of these consquences are dire indeed. But I love them. Don't know how I have not read them.
Well, my friends I must sign off for tonight. May the muse of the Gods visit you in your sleep and whisper old stories in your ears. For truly they are the best of the best!
Hugs,
Michelle
Who is listening to Jim Croche tonight and it is all Molly's fault for starting me on that Don McLean tangent!

I can't be contrite, Michelle. I love Jim Croche! I don't suppose you have any Otis Redding you could listen to...ya know, to break the fascination with Croche? *grin*
Sittin in the mornin sun
I'll be sittin when the evenin come
Watchin the ships roll in
And I'll watch 'em roll away again
Sittin on the dock of the bay
Watchin the tide roll away
Just a-sittin on the dock of the bay
Wastin ti-hi-i-i-hi-ime....
Kudos on the good work, though! People don't realize how much "other" work goes into a book. Writing isn't always about cranking out pages. You gotta do some research, some plotting, some character-building. There's a lot of behind-the-scenes.
That's why I usually cringe at the question, "So, what page are you on?"
