Day 7 and Day 8

Day 7 (Sunday) started with a bang. I knew I wouldn't get any writing done in the morning because I had to be over at a different barn by 7:30 in the morning which is a huge stretch for me. I hope my daughter appreciated that it was such a big stretch. The things we do for our children. But she wanted to go to the horse show and take her horse.

It was a big day of firsts. The first for my husband and daughter and I to go to a show on our own, the first time I'd worked the registration desk for a horse show, and the first time our darling horse Thunder had been to a show without a barn mate. [horses are very social creatures and really don't like going new places by themselves. Change=maybe getting eaten for them] So he did really good the first five and half hours we were there waiting for the Western classes to start but after that sixth hour he was pretty much done. I can't say I blame him. I was pretty much done myself. So we ended up loading up and coming home [because he was getting antsy-and we were all hot and tired anyway]

So by the time I got home, I checked emails and posted on Janie's blog and then I went upstairs and passed out cold to wake up this morning after having twelve hours of sleep and having done no writing. {Bad girl! Bad, bad girl}

Day 8: Monday
Today I've done much better. I ended up writing close to 2,000 words! Yippee. I don't think they are wonderful words but at this point I'm not complaining. I'm trying to get back into the habit of writing. I've really struggled with my writing since I quit smoking last year. I used to sit at the computer and write and write but then I quit smoking and it seemed like my ability to write a cohesive paragraph seemed to disappear with it. [not that any of my blog posts ever make any sense or are cohesive]

But today I ended with 1982 words of new text and a great starting place for tomorrow. This makes me a very happy camper even if I am distracted by beautiful people. So onward and upward Sven...kick my tail and make me write!
