I watched tonight for what is probably the hundredth time the film "LadyHawk"
What an exceptional story. It has it all. Fantasy, action, myth, swords, a real bad bad guy and who of course could forget the impressive Rutger Hauer in his prime?
I love this story, told from the point of view of "Phillipe, the mouse" It is fantasy at its best. I wonder how many writers have been inspired by this film. Talk about tortured love...whew!
You know, even without all the fancy editing and computer generated images we didn't have in the 80's this movie and Krull stand out in my mind. I loved them both. They were all in a manner of sorts adventure stories. Fantasy adventures...where the characters solved their own problems. *note to self--remember that*
It is now day seven of no smoking for me and I'm hanging in there. It's been tough and my jaw hurts from chewing so much gum. Ick!
Seven hundred new words on Spells last night and I'm close to about another thousand tonight. I stopped to watch LadyHawke...distractions. I'm such a sucker for distractions but I watched it with my daughter who of course loved the film.

I saw this movie years ago. The pictures made me want to see it again as I can't recall a lot of it.
Thanks, Janie! I'm trying real hard on the not smoking. It's much easier now. Just dealing with the walking around the house looking for my cigarettes habit now...LOL
On Spells...Not all of those words will be kept I'm afraid but they are all on the page which is the important part. The next part is to figure out where I want to put all these sections so they make sense...Oy...
I own this movie and I've watched it countless times. If it was made today, it would probably be full of CGI and the plot would be nonexistent!
I've never seen my husband cry for any movie until he watched Ladyhawke. He was embarrassed and said it was just so darn romantic he couldn't help himself!
Josie, it's one of the movies in my top ten list that made me want to write. I have a lot of those. I'm a movieholic. One of those people who like to escape into the big screen. It feeds my imagination...My husband likes the film as well! *grin*
