So...Happy Fourth of July!!!! So I’m a little late on posting but it’s worth it, I promise. You all know that nothing normal ever happens to me. Strange but true. My life could never be a book because it makes not one wit of sense to anyone least of all me.
We went to some friends for dinner this afternoon. Food was fantastic. Steaks, baked potatoes, Greek salad, and a big chocolate cake for desert. Then we all piled in the cars and headed to my niece’s brand new house up on the lake. There we lit sparklers and set off a few fireworks that we had bought earlier in the day before heading down to the lake to see the big show.
Okay, now this is the weird part. First of all they were having a private party thingy for the home owner’s association where she lives and is a member. Should be a member since she has to pay due’s and stuff but one of the guys was a real wanker and was like well, I guess since it’s the fourth of July you can come and sit on the grass. Turns out he was setting off some fireworks of his own. Big ones. Ones that you probably needed a permit for.
So the entire group of us, including two children are sitting there enjoying the lights and noise, when all of a sudden I notice that a big firework display thingy was shooting off awfully low to the ground. The little shooting things were going sideways right in front of us. I’m thinking...okay cool. When the next one lands about a foot in front of me.
Hubby starts yelling for everyone to move and run screaming “It tipped over.”. I’m still sitting there going.... “Oh...look at the pretty lights...” when hubby grabs my arm and pulls me out of the way before the next volley can put out mine eyes!
Can we say weird?
One of the little boys that was with said...”Please don’t do that again. I really don’t want to die tonight.” Know what the big manly man told this little boy...or rather screamed back at him? “If you don’t like it you can always go home...”
Nice guy huh? I wished I’d have had my big ole cast iron skillet so I could clunk him over the head with it.
The wanker!
So happy 4th everybody!!!!
